Course/Module description:
The course will introduce different approaches to the study of political discourse. We will discuss the links between language, politics and the media and demonstrate political uses of language in various media genres.

Course/Module aims:
Understanding the language uses of political actors and how the language constructs public, political and international processes and rituals.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
The students will be able to define the term political discourse and to describe different approaches to the study of political language use. Tools for identifying, analyzing and criticizing calculated language will be taught.
