Course/Module description:
Israel's health care system is constantly under process of change, similar to health care systems all over the world. In such an uncertainty environment, health professions and nursing students, must know the characteristics of these processes focusing on the circumstances, main issues, policy alternatives and management skills established in recent decades.
Theoretical models will be analyzed, such as models of decision making, quality and risk management, budgeting system, and quality and safety outcomes.
Each domain will present two different angles:
- Concept clarifications and international comparisons.
- Analysis of a unique issues derived from the specific topic discussed in class

Course/Module aims:
To expose students to theories, issues and processes related to International and the Israeli health care systems, analyzing the frequent changes in the system and their impact on the and system and on human resources focusing on the nurses' group.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1. describe issues related to changes in the health system characteristics change, the effects of the changing environment on the system, and decision-making regarding the inclusion of new technologies.
2. analyze major issues in the management of health systems in Israel and abroad.
3. describe the characteristics of the Israeli health care system based on organizational theories, laws and budgeting.
4. describe the characteristics of the system on the basis of theories of quality, safety and international outcomes.
5. compare and analyze aspects of nursing management and leadership on the international level

Attendance requirements(%):
None

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: - Lectures (80%) - the course is conducted in the form of integrated lectures and case studies discussions. Some of the lessons will be given by experts in health care management. Students will prepare questions to the experts on the basis of the discussed topic.
- Presentations (20%) - Students will present a topic and conduct a discussion with the class. The topic will be chosen by the students from the course topics
