Course/Module description:
This workshop is a central arena to discuss the stages of policy analysis that consist of identifying key players, institutional agenda, problem definition, generic policies, decision rules, implementation and policy evaluation.
Course/Module aims:
The goal of this workshop is to develop policy analysis skills in various policy fields. To achieve this goal, the students prepare prescriptive policy paper on actual policy issues from their own desk. In the end of this workshop the students would be able to examine critically policy analysis done by governmental and non-governmental as well as international institutions
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
• To design policy measures in various fields using a battery of considerations.
• Justify government intervention or inaction in the markets.
• Asses policy analysis done by national and international institutions
• Compare the desired public policy and the actual policy in Israel and developed countries.
• Examine critically policy recommendations that are circulated by government institutions, NGOs and international institutions.
