Course/Module description:
This course presents core concepts in abnormal psychology, and covers a range of emotional disorders. The course will present theory, research and recommended evidence based therapies.
Course/Module aims:
1. To present a range of emotional disorders of various types.
2. To present different theoretical models explaining the etiology of these disorders, and the treatments that are derived from them,
3. To present research evidence about the effectiveness of different treatments.
4. To present the cultural context of abnormal psychology
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1. To identify and characterize a range of emotional disorders according to DSM5 classification.
2. To link disorders to their effective treatments
3. To analyze abnormal behavior within a cultural context.

Lectures, presentations – people who are coping with various disorders, excerpts from films portraying psychopathology, therapy stories
