Course/Module description:
The course will focus on the social-cognitive and emotional mechanisms underlying social information processing and comprehension, and social behavior, as well as on the neuroanatomic correlates of these mechanisms. Assessment and treatment of social cognitive abilities and deficits will be discussed.
Course/Module aims:
- To become familiar with the main processes involved in perceiving, processing and reacting to social information, and with the neuroanatomic correlates of these processes
- To become familiar with tools for assessment of social cognitive abilities, as well as intervention methods.
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
- Understand the processes involved in social cognition and behavior.
- Be familiar with methods for assessment and intervention with patients presenting with social cognitive deficits.
