Course/Module description:
This course will introduce participants to the characteristics and various approaches to designing and conducting qualitative research projects in conflict research. Students will be introduced to various qualitative methods and analysis techniques.

Course/Module aims:
To enable processing and understanding of narratives in contexts of intergroup conflict; To become familiar with the characteristics, language and logic of qualitative research methods; To understand the available techniques for designing a qualitative research study,and the available techniques for qualitative data analysis.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
The course seeks to enable deep understanding of the narrative approach in contexts of interpersonal and intergroup relations, and provide students with skills in carrying out qualitative and narrative research in the social sciences.

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: The course will combine frontal teaching and consulting on an individual basis.

Life stories in intercultural society.
Personal and collective identities and narratives in conflict situations.
Narrative approaches for intergroup communication and dialogue.
Narrative approaches for research in the social sciences.
