Comments: Course will be given in English. "Abraham Joshua Heschel's conception of God is very distinctive in the history of modern Jewish thought. It raises new questions and problems concerning our relation to God as well as our relation to others and to ourselves. This course will focus on an in depth study of one of Heshel's most significant books, God in Search of Man. Other writings by Heschel will supplement our discussion of this book. Attention will also be given to Heschel's differences from other major modern Jewish thinkers."
