Course/Module description:
This course addresses evidence based data regarding sensory modulation disorder (SMD) , as the basis for evidence based intervention. Issues such as theoretical models which explain this condition, diagnosis, etiology and SMD in various diagnostic populations will be discussed. In addition the course will relate to central issues regarding the evaluation process and principles of various intervention approaches
Course/Module aims:
To provide knowledge regarding the current literature in the field of SMD, including addressing a variety of topics such as the clinical picture of SMD throughout the lifespan, theoretical models explaining SMD, and the diagnosis of SMD in a variety of health conditions. In addition, the course will relate to the process of assessment and intervention in this population while establishing clinical reasoning in providing evidence-based treatment

1. Explain basic concepts in the field of sensory modulation
2. Understand the unique contribution of each of the theoretical models and the implications for the assessment and intervention process
3. Conduct critical thinking on current research in the field of sensory modulation disorder
4. Understand the central principles in building an assessment and intervention plan for this population
