Course/Module description:
In this course students will learn the principles of inferential statistics and relevant tests for conducting a quantitative research study in occupational therapy.

Course/Module aims:
1. Introduce basic concepts of the theory of statistics
2. Provide knowledge of inferential statistics
3. Provide knowledge of applying statistic tests

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1. Describe statistic terms
2. Identify suitable statistic tests for investigating a hypothesis
3. Conduct a suitable test and understand its results

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: Lectures, practical tasks, home tasks

Course/Module Content:
1. t-test for independent and paired samples
2. f-test
3. Analysis of variance (ANOVA, MANOVA, MANCOVA) and the concept of interaction
4. Repeated measure ANOVA
5. Correlation coefficient
6. Regression
7. Non-parametric tests

Readings will be provided to students throughout the course
