Course/Module description:
The course focuses on academic writing and the basic knowledge required, e.g., literature search, understanding the anatomy of articles, reviewing scientific papers, and the 'art' of scientific writing.

Course/Module aims:
1.To understand the difference between different writing Ganres
2.Teach skills for searching database-engines.
3.To understand differences between article types and parts.
4.Teach learn skills for critically reviewing scientific literature.
5.Teach skills for writing scientific papers.
6.To learn how to choose research topics and generate questions.
7.To understand ethic rules for scientific writing and research.




Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1.Efficiently search data-bases
2. Effectively organize materials found for writing a paper.
3.Critically review a scientific papers.
4.Formulate a research question or purpose.
5.Present the study/ project rationale
6. Write integrative paragraphs according to scientific writing and APA rules.
7.Apply strategies for planning and time budgeting.

Course/Module Content:
1.Writing ganers.
2. Ethics in research.
3.Executive functions in the writing process.
4.Types of information sources for writing papers.
5.Searching for sources of information and methods for organizing the material.
6.The anatomy of theoretical and research articles.
7.Critically reviewing articles and methods for extracting material from the articles.
8.The anatomy of research /project papers and proposals.
9.Formulating the research/project purpose, questions and/or hypotheses.
10.The writing process — determining the outline (the ideas), integration of information from various sources (academic and research).
11.Scientific writing according to APA rules.
12.Organization of writing and reading sources
