Course/Module description:
This course will enable a wider theoretical and practical understanding of leading a group. Focus will be placed on the group process and dynamic that occur between participant, and develop tools to plan a group intervention.
Course/Module aims:
- provide theoretic knowledge and its application to group processes
- provide skills for planning and analysing group processes
- experience in conducting groups
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1. understand the theory of groups and central concepts of group work
2. know how to explain processes and behaviours of individuals in a group
3. identify problems within a group
4. plan a group intervention session, set goals, select approach
5. develop skills of conducting a group
