Course/Module description:
This workshop provides experience in motor learning through judo, enabling students to participate in physical activity for therapy and rehabilitation used for children and adolescents with a variety of disorders. Experiential learning provides an opportunity to develop ones identity as a therapist and develops an understanding of different populations. In the workshop, we will cover the benefit of physical activity for developing the sense of achievement, the physical and emotional benefit of sport, the benefit of being part of a group and the use of games to provide different experiences.
Course/Module aims:
- Provide experience in adapted physical activity as a tool for personal development
- Provide an opportunity to experience adapted physical activity as an effective therapy tool in different populations
- Provide an opportunity to be an active member of a group
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1. experience judo as an example of physical activity as a therapy tool
2. understand difficulties of motor learning through experience
3. understand the use of adapted physical activity

- Movement as an expression of emotion
- Experience through imitation: What is empathy
- The interaction of the body and soul
