History, methodology and case studies of epidemiology of infectious diseases
Course/Module aims:
To teach the principles of the epidemiology of infectious diseases and implementation of preventive measures.
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
• Understand guidelines on infectious disease prevention.
• Understand national vaccination recommendations (childhood, adult, occupational and health worker vaccination, recommendations for travelers).
• Understand the concepts, utility and limitations of mathematical disease modeling.
• To scientifically and critically evaluate infectious disease prevention decision making.
• To assess implications of infectious diseases at the national and international level.
