Course/Module description:
Training in cavity preparation, preliminary exposure to basic concepts in restorative dentistry, introduction to restorative materials and the use of basic dental appliances.

Course/Module aims:
1. Develop basic manual dexterity skills required for restorative dentistry.
2. Familiarize the student with the basic principles of cavity preparation.
3. Familiarize the student with the dental clinical environment.
4. Train the student in evaluating dental cavities

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
• Prepare dental cavities in a composite plate based on specific guidelines.
• List the relevant parameters for cavity preparation.
• Evaluate, criticize and correctly grade cavity preparations.
