Medical anamnesis, Clinical Head and neck examination, Normal anatomy and common variations of the oral cavity. Recognition, clinical examination, differential diagnosis, diagnosis and diagnostic tests and treatment of oral diseases or oral manifestations of דsome systemic diseases: Reactive lesions and tobacco related disorders. Infectious diseases (viral, fungal and microbial), vesiculo-ulcerative diseases and aphtous ulcerations, allergic reactions and contact stomatitis, pigmented lesions ,potentially malignant disorders and oral cancer. Side effects of medication and oncologic treatments at the oral cavity
Course/Module aims:
To enable the students understand the pathologic and pathophysiologic oral and systemic diseases with oral manifestations and to apply this understanding of diseases by being able to examine, diagnose and treat this disease and advance patients health.
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Outline medical anamnesis
• Conduct a full head and neck clinical examination
• Explain the etiology and pathogenesis of oral mucosal pathologies
• Analyze clinical and laboratory data in order to diagnose disease of the oral cavity and systemic diseases with oral mucosal manifestations
• Select evidence based treatment approach to oral diseases and systemic diseases with oral mucosal manifestations
• Identify research models of oral cancer

Course/Module Content:
Medical anamnesis.
Head and Neck physical examination.
Examination of the oral cavity.
Common Anatomic variations and common pathological findings in the oral cavity (migratory stomatitis) hairy tongue, varicosities, exostoses, tori).
Reactive lesions –mechanical injuries (linea alba, Morsicatio buccarum, traumatic ulcer) thermal and chemical injuries.
Tobbaco related disorders) nicotine stomatitis, smokers melanosis, leukoplakia).
Viral infections (Herpes Simplex, Varicella, Herpes Zoster, Hand Foot and Mouth Disease, Herpangina, Cytomegalo Virus, Epstein –Barr virus,Human Papiloma virus).
Fungal infections: Candidiasis (including -denture stomatitis, angular cheilitis, median rhomboid glossitis, papillary hyperplasia),
Microbacterial infections (Syphilis, Tuberculosis, Gonorehia ,Actinomycosis, Cat scratch disease).
Vesiculo-Ulcerative diseases.
Lichen planus, lichenoid reactions.
Pemphigus vulgaris, mucous membrane pemphigoid.Paraneoplastic pemphigus
Erythema multiforme. and treatment under corona pandemia
Common oral lesions in children and adolesencent.
Recurrent aphthous ulcerations, Behcet's Syndrome.
Angioedema, Orofacial granulomatosis,.
Pigmented lesions: physiologic, benign, neoplasms, syndromes, exogenous deposits, drug induced pigmentation.
Potentially malignant disorders.
Oral manifestations of- oncologic treatments ,Mucositis,MRONJ
Oral cancer clinical and basic sciences research.
