Course/Module description:
Local anesthesia in dentistry – learning how to practice safe and effective local anesthesia in dentistry through avoiding the complications that may result from hazards or errors in technique.

Course/Module aims:
The student will understand the principles of local anesthesia administration in dentistry and will be able to deliver local anesthesia in the oral cavity for restorative and surgical procedures or other treatment as needed/required, including management of potential complications of local anesthesia.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
• Carry out basic local anesthesia techniques.

•3-5.11.24 Upper jaw - buccal and palatal infiltration (department staff )
• 10-12.11.24 Upper jaw - Posterior superior alveolar
nerve block, Infraorbital+Incisive block (department staff )
- 17-19.11.24 Lower jaw - Inferior alveolar nerve
block, Buccal nerve block (department staff )
• 24-26.11.24 Maxillary block, Gow-Gates.(department staff )

1-3.12.24 Competency test.

All clinical practices are obligatory
