Course/Module description:
Six weeks (and an introduction week) where the students are exposed to the variety of the subjects in Gynecology, obstetrics, infertility and women's health. The students are involved in the clinical and academic activity of the department (e.g. rounds, operating room, delivery room, and clinics)

Course/Module aims:
To obtain theorethical and "hands on" knowledge in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
To get gynecological and obstetric history, to perform gynecological (bimanual) examination, To be able to examine a pregnant woman (abdominal and vaginal examination), to reach to a diagnosis based on the history and clinical examination. To be familiar with the therapeutic approach to the diagnosis.

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: Frontal lectures during the fifth year introduction course, cases' discussions in groups, case presentations by students, bedside teaching, teaching in the operating room, delivery rooms,and clinics. Bi-weekly Quizzes, oral examination(OSCE) at the end of the course.

History taking in Ob/Gyn.
The normal dlivery.
Pathological deliveries.
The gynecological examination.
The menstrual cycle.
Fetal monitoring
Physiological changes during pregnancy.
Gestational hypertension and preeclampsia.
IUGR.
First trimester bleeding.
Miscarriages.
Benign ovarian tumors.
Genetic screening. (prenatal and perinatal).
Ectopic pregnancy.
Uterine fibroids.
Urinary incontinence.
Ovarian cancer.
Induction of ovulation.
Male infertility.
PCOD.
Endometriosis.
In vitro fertilization and ART.
Menopause Phsyology, pathology and treatment.
Prenatal diagnosis.
Malignant and pre- malignant cervical and vulvar lesions.
PID and STD.
