Course/Module description:
A course in Ophthalmology, given to fifth year medical students.
Taught at the three branched campuses.
clerkship is two weeks long.

Course/Module aims:
To teach basic ophthalmology at a level required by every physician and identify situations in which an ophthalmologist should be part of the team for better care of the patient.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
The learning outcomes for which the students are required will focus on knowing and identifying common disorders and emergency situations in ophthalmology from the point of view of the general practitioner, knowing the differential diagnosis for the complaints of patients suffering from eye problems, knowing when and how to involve the ophthalmologist in patient care and possible treatment methods.

Attendance requirements(%):
100, it is possible to miss 1 day with prior approval from the course coordinator

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: Online preliminary lectures, PBLs and case discussions, accompanying doctors in clinics, operating rooms and active participation in the eye examination room including first contact, admissions, and examination of patients

Anatomy of the eye
Ocular trauma
Acute vision loss
Transient visual field disturbances
ophthalmic tumors
Pathological conditions in pediatric ophthalmology
Chronic systemic diseases (their effect and ocular manifestations)
The red eye
The aging eye

Computerized Exam - At the cluster % 60
