Course/Module description:
Study of biblical and ancient near eastern texts (mostly myths and legends) relating to the duration of human life, sterility and fertility, birth and death, youth and old age, sickness and suffering, faith and hope.
Course/Module aims:
Broadening the students' insights about faith and hope in Biblical thought and their contribution to medicine.
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:

• demonstrate an introductory knowledge and understanding of the diverse cultural contexts of medicine in the Bible and in the ancient Near East.

- explain and evaluate the biblical background of the Oath of the Hebrew Physician.
• demonstrate skills in writing and critical thinking.
