Course/Module description:
Accompanying genetic counsellors and
physicians in their daily work.

Course/Module aims:

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1. Taking a pedigree.
2. Recognizing the inheritance pattern based on the family history.
3. Become familiar with the clinical and molecular basis of a range of genetic disorders.
4. Getting to know the stages of genetic counselling meeting.
5. Expose to a variety of genetic tests available today.
6. Understand the way genetic tests are carried out in Israel (funding, referring criteria, etc).

Prenatal counselling
Pre-marital counselling
Adult-onset conditions
Pre-pregnancy counselling
Pediatric genetics
Adult genetics
Cancer genetics
Specified clinics (lung diseases, eye genetics)

In accordance with the cases met in clinic
