Course/Module description:
The advanced clinical training is a study unit that summarizes the clinical curriculum. Its main goal is to prepare the student for professional life while focusing on:
1. Integration, strengthening and deepening of knowledge and skills acquired up to this stage of the studies
2. Acquisition of advanced professional knowledge and skills
3. Development of practical and managerial abilities in implementing change in the organization
Course/Module aims:
1. The student will experience providing comprehensive and safe care to an individual patient, groups of patients and their families, while applying evidence-based knowledge and skills in all the fields acquired during the theoretical and clinical studies. Special emphasis will be placed on treating complex and unstable patients
2. The nursing care provided by the student will be conducted with the coordination and participation of a multi-professional team
3. The student will develop critical thinking skills in implementing changes in the organization
4. The student will receive a toolbox that helps in managing professional life
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
During and at the end of the advanced clinical training the student
1. Will demonstrate mastery of the following subjects:
- Emotional, social and cultural processes among the target population
- Anatomy and physiology of body systems and pathophysiological processes in representative clinical situations, including complex and life-threatening medical conditions
- Diagnostic tests that are performed on patients, including the purpose and methods of execution, preparation, training and follow-up after a patient and the consequences of the findings on the continuation of treatment
- Technologies used for assessment, monitoring and treatment, health promotion and disease prevention among the target population
- Providing drug treatment and its consequences
- Additional treatments and their consequences for the patient and his environment
- Professional procedures
- Pharmacy account
2. Will develop/improve skills in the following areas:
- Treatment of patients with representative, complex, unstable and life-threatening medical conditions
- Creating a supportive therapeutic environment using professional communication with patients, their families and multi-professional staff
- Comprehensive data collection from relevant sources
- Identification of existing and potential nursing problems (diagnoses) according to order of priorities
- Making therapeutic decisions
- Planning an evidence-based nursing intervention and defining indicators for its evaluation
- Carrying out a planned intervention while maintaining the safety of the patients, the order of priorities and the principles of nursing care
- Evaluation of the intervention plans according to the defined indicators
- Identifying training needs and conducting individual and group patient training
- Registration and reporting, including the computerized ones
- Centralization of treatment and coordination with a multi-professional team while referring to an intra- and inter-systemic treatment sequence
- Mapping the needs of the clinical field while focusing on a specific need / problem, reviewing relevant literature and suggestions for fulfilling the need / solving the problem
- Dealing with managerial issues through observation / interviewing / accompanying a responsible nurse during a working day, identifying managerial aspects related to the nurse's work, analysis of powers versus areas of responsibility, management style, areas of decision making, identifying conflicts and proposing ways to resolve them
- Participating in a multi-professional team activity, analyzing the contribution of each of the participants, proposing a different way to carry out the team's work by relying on literature relevant to the subject.

- Returning a cannula to the trachea as a life-saving operation, for a patient with tracheostomy
- Inserting a speculum into the vagina for taking cultures and surfaces
5. Workshops - change from time to time (will be updated prior to the experience)

Experience Requirement:
1. Full attendance (100%) and showing up on time on all days of advanced training. Any absence will require reporting and completion of the day, with prior coordination with the instructor until the last day of the advanced training
2. Absence of 20% of the days of the experience cannot be completed, requires an immediate report and will result in the termination of the advanced training
3. For your information, if you are sick and have a medical certificate from a doctor, you are not allowed to participate in advanced training due to the lack of medical insurance
4. The advanced training will take place in the time frame set in advance only, any deviation from the time of the experience may result in its termination
5. Obligation to appear in a standard outfit
6. The presence and control of the clinical supervisor is required in the performance of medication distribution / intrusive intervention
7. Mandatory participation in discussions and workshops.
