Course/Module description:
The course will deal with the acquisition of the skill of physical assessment (principles and techniques) and reporting the findings in an adult patient. Emphasis will be placed on identifying and deviating from normal situations. Physical assessment is a component of the data collection process in assessing health as part of the nursing process

Course/Module aims:
1. To provide the student with the skills of a physical examination of a methodically mature patient, in a logical and effective manner, reporting and drawing conclusions.
2. 2. Allows the student to perform an examination and evaluation of the structure and function of the body (in whole or in part) and identification of normal and abnormal data
3. 3. Improves inter-professional communication (physician-sibling) in understanding written reports of physical assessment

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1. To examine the body's structure and function in a basic adult patient. The physical examination systems that will be taught in the course are: head, neck, chest, breast, heart, blood vessels, abdomen, skeletal muscle and radial nerves.
2 .Distinguish between normal and abnormal findings
3. To report orally and in writing on the information collected.

The physical examination systems that will be taught in the course are: head, neck, chest, breast, heart, blood vessels, abdomen, skeletal muscle and radial nerves
