Course/Module description:
The subject of this course is human development from childhood (approximately age 6, entering elementary school) onwards. During the course we will discuss human development in childhood, adolescence, early and late adulthood and during old age.
We will focus on emotional, cognitive, and social aspects of growth, change (and also withdrawal) in these developmental periods. The content is drawn from empirical research and major theories in developmental psychology.
Course/Module aims:
knowledge and understanding of the developmental processes of the human being (cognitive, emotional and soical) since childhood and onward.
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1.present knowledge about the human developmental process in these developmental periods
2.understand major theories of cognitive, social and emotional human development
3.synthesize theory and research and apply them towards solutions of relevant psychological issues and problems.
4.integrate the knowledge gained in the course with the work in his professional field.
