Course/Module description:
A 'hand on' course in the faculty farm in which students will experience growing several different vegetables and field crops in two seasons.
Course/Module aims:
To expose young students to vegetable production techniques. Practical knowledge and field experience obtained in the workshop will likely provide a stronger basis for understanding further courses in plant biology and agriculture.
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Acknowledge various methods of vegetable production. Distinguish between winter and summer crops. Classifying the crops by their edible parts: roots, stems, leaves inflorescences and fruits.

Practical guidance in the farm combined with short lectures and explanations
Course/Module Content:
Principles of vegetable crop production, regarding the edible parts of the plant: root, leaves, stems, inflorescences and fruits. Focusing on fertilization, irrigation, pets and diseases, harvest time and physiological disorders.
