In the course health maintenance and major diseases affecting cattle, chicken and fish in commercial production are presented
Course/Module aims:
The aim of the course is to provide knowledge in the field of animal health management and knowledge on major diseases affecting cattle, chicken and fish. The knowledge aids in the understanding of host-pathogen interactions. The course provides background for diagnostics of the different diseases as well as understanding research on diseases in these farmed animals
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
- Identifying the symptoms of diseases in the farmed animals
- Understanding the interaction between the host and pathogen
- Knowledge in the prevention and treatment of diseases in the farmed animals
- Familiarizing with bacterial viral and parasitic diseases of the farmed animals
- Familiarizing with non infectious diseases and the conditions to their development
