Course/Module description:
Advanced topics in the physiology of the mammalian central nervous system.

Course/Module aims:
To equip the students with broad knowledge in physiology and expose them to the most current research in physiology

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Explain the structure and function of the mammalian nervous system.

Introduction: Structure of the nervous system: from neuron to brain
Introduction to sensory systems
Sensory systems: Visual, Auditory, Somatosensory, Olfactory, and specialised sensory systems
The motor system
The cortical column
The autonomous nervous system
Learning and Memory
Advanced methods in neuroscience
