Course/Module description:
The course covers the following topics: anatomy and physiology, evolution and adaptations to habitats; zoogeography; feeding habits in fish; growth in fish; spawning and life history strategy and _ population dynamics. Study of three fish faunas of Israel's fresh water, the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea

Course/Module aims:
To obtain knowledge of general Ichthyology with an emphasis on fishes of Israel

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Recognize processes of zoogeography and dynamics of fish populations; Identify the fish of Israel Identify the human impact on the marine environment

Attendance requirements(%):
100 for labs and field trip; not required for lectures
