Course/Module description:
Poultry production - breeds and cross breeds. Poultry branches:
broilers,layers,turkeys,geese,ostriches and game birds. The role of
artificial light in poultry production. Embryo development and incubation
management. Breeders management,production planning at the farmers and
integration levels. Labs: Incubation of broiler embryos under various light
illuminations: methods of incubation,broiler production from hatch to
marketing age,monitoring of feed intake,growth,morbidity,morphometric
parameters on marketing age. Field trips at various branches of poultry
business.

Course/Module aims:
To present the poultry sector in Israel. To present the various poultry breeds and the sectors of the poultry branch

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1. Introduction to poultry business.
2. Introduction to poultry nutrition.
3. Solving management problems.
4. Planning.
5. Practical poultry growing.
