Course/Module description:
This course will present the basics of turf grass and lawn cultivation in Israel for the purposes of landscape, recreation and sport as well as the maintenance principals.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
The course will introduce to the students all the common verities of turf grass in Israel as well as the methods to cultivate

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: lectures

Course/Module Content:
History of turf grass cultivation. Common usage, basic biology of the turf grass plant, turf grass and sod planting, infrastructure, drainage, irrigation, weeds and pest control.
Turf maintenance - mowing, Aerification, dealing with thatch, seeding and sprigging.
