Improving reading of academic material and expansion of content knowledge base, through ongoing practice of skills and strategies in reading relevant field-related materials.

Practicing oral language, listening and simple writing skills.

-Analyse texts in English
- Practice oral language, listening and simple writing skills
- preparing an oral presentation

TYPES OF TEXTS:
* Expository texts
• Research papers
SKILLS FOR TEXT ANALYSIS:
• Previewing
• Skimming
• Scanning
SKILLS FOR PARAGRAPH ANALYSIS:
• Markers and paragraph patterns
SKILLS FOR SENTENCE ANALYSIS:
• Sentence order
• Parts of speech
• Types of sentences

And academic reading material from various academic fields.

Grading Scheme :
Written / Oral / Practical Exam 70 %
Submission assignments during the semester: Exercises / Essays / Audits / Reports / Forum / Simulation / others 30 %

Additional information:
Course passing grade – 70. Course final grade consists of a class grade - 70% and a final exam grade - 30%.
Class grade includes: 3 midterm tests, 1 project and all class and home assignments.
