Course/Module description:
Biological events in the paleontological record of the southern Levant

Course/Module aims:
1. Impart knowledge on past faunal record
2. Impart knowledge on the local paleontology record
3. Emphasis the connection between the world-wide processes and the local ones
4. Reading articles in detail

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Gaining basic knowledge on the local paleontological record, while studying the world-wide phenomena. Reading in depth scientific publications

1. The Precambrian fauna
2. Cambrian – selected localities
3. Triassic faunal world
4. Jurassic faunal world
5. Reptiles, dinosaurs and flying animals in the Cretaceous
6. Africa in the Oligocene
7. Early-Middle Miocene
8. Late Miocene
9. Pliocene

Selected chapters from Cenozoic mammals of Africa
