Basic class in quantum information theory

Course/Module aims:

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Understand the postulates of quantum theory and their relation with data storage, transmission and security.

Analyze basic scrnarios.

Introduction to quantum theory
Quantum information measures
Typicality and compression
Quantum communications
Quantum key distribution

Required background: 67651 elements of information theory, or by special approval.
Also requires knowledge in linear algebra (80135 or 80154) and probability (80430)
