Emerging zoonotic diseases, description of factors responsible for their emergence

Course/Module aims:
to be able to integrate presenting signs of infectious and parasitic zoonotic diseases with aetiological differentials in different global regions , have knowledge in epidemiological disease trends and understand their drivers. Lastly, the structure of prevention and control strategies for their eradication

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Description of the pathogens, the factors and the consequences in which these pathogens emerge.

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: Frontal lectures using presentations, discussions in class and case studies for practice

vector-borne emerging viral zoonoses
Viral hemorrhagic fevers
Avian influenza virus
emerging paramyxoviruses
emerging coronaviruses
Bioterror
Leishmania and other neglected tropical zoonoses
