Course/Module description:
The first stage of the course will examine fundamental models in the philosophy of Halachah through the light of legal studies, hermeneutics and cultural studies (through the writings of Sagi, Silman, Ross and others).
The Second stage of the course will examine the deep connection between the Philosophy of Education and philosophy of Halakhah throgh various aspects.

Course/Module aims:
To understand the philosophical and educational concepts that stands behind every Halakhic text.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
The students will become aware of varied models in the philosophy of Halachah

The students will get analytic tools of various models in the Philosophy of Halakhah and its relationship to philosophy of Education.

Lesson 2-4: Halachah and the concept of authority: Formalism, positivism, essentialism, Hermeneutics and Feminism
Lessons 5: Halakhah and Philosophy of Education
Lesson 6: Schwab and Philosophy of Halkhah
Lessons 8-7: Theory and Praxis - Education and Halakhah.
Lessons 9-10: Halakhah
as Event.
Lessons 11-13: The implications of educational thought on the Halakhic ruling in the modern Jewish era.

Additional information:
The course will take place in a dialogic spirit in the presence of the students in the classroom, without accompanying zoom and without recordings.
I believe a meaningful study should involve a living dialogue between the teacher and the class. The presence of each other is a central occurrence in the learning process.
The classes will, therefore, not be recorded unless there is a real epidemic that does not allow teaching on campus.
The presentations accompanying the lesson are not part of the materials delivered to the students, and you can take pictures of these presentations during the lessons. At the end of every class, I will send bay moodle all the textual information we studied together and my lesson summary with my reading instructions.
