Course/Module description:
The course will serve as a framework for critical and theoretical analysis of the phenomenon of ideological, theological and halakhic fragmentation and the sociological and cultural implications of the various Jewish streams in the modern world.
The course will examine the conservative and Modern Orthodox streams in American and Israeli Jewry.
The focus of the course will be theology and Philosophy of Halakhah of the various streams and an examination of their educational implications.

Course/Module aims:
Understanding of the philosophy behind the various streams in the modern Jewish world, the educational and Halachic implications of theology and hermeneutics behind these streams

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
The course will examine the philosophical trends behind sociological changes in the modern Jewish world.
The students will gain analytical tools with which they clarify the differences between the Jewish streams in the Modern era.
The students will learn to be aware of the contemporary cultural events in its theological, philosophical and educational implications
The students will explore the various Jewish literatures in Jewish streams and especially Conservative and Modern Orthodox thoughts.
