Course/Module description:
Reading key texts on education in Rabbinic literature and comparison to Greco-roman and Christian paideia.


Course/Module aims:
The course is designed to engage extended texts on education in rabbinic literature, facilitate a deep reading of them and compare them to Christian, Persian and Greco-Roman texts on education

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1. Facility in reading rabbinic texts
2. Conceptuialization of the aims of ancient education
