Course/Module description:
How are international commercial transactions and relevant contracts negotiated, structured, and enforced? What private laws and public laws apply? How is payment structured, and what happens if there is a problem? Which courts or tribunals can decide disputes, and how are their decisions enforced across borders? This module provides an introduction to these issues that will help prepare lawyers for effective international commercial practice.
Course/Module aims:
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Draft, review, and negotiate international commercial contracts in their private and public law context, including provisions for performance, payment, force majeure, and dispute settlement.
