Course/Module description:
A lesson about damages in personal injuries cases. Among other topics we will learn how to quantify damages, what are average salaries, deductions (including contributory negligence, winning chances and social security), the role of income tax, compensation periods and life expectancy, discounting future damages, jointly and severally, heirs and dependents, periodical and interim payments, non-pecuniary damage and the value of autonomy, illegal expenses, evidential damages, aggravating of existing damages, damages for prenatal torts, foreign torts, punitive damages.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
The students will have the ability to calculate damages and deal with the theoretical dilemmas regarding of quantifying damages.
