Course/Module description:
The issue of remedies for breach of contract is central to modern contract law. The remedy is the right's direct manifestation; it is the means by which the judicial system grants effective protection of the right. The strength and scope of the contractual obligation is therefore strongly correlated to the remedy given for its breach. Additionally, studying the issue of breach of contract provides a good theoretical perspective into contract law and the court's role in enforcing contracts.
In view of the practical and theoretical importance of the issue of remedies, this course will focus on the law and theory of breach of contract and will deepen students' understanding of this material. The course will touch on this issue from both doctrinal and theoretical perspectives.

Course/Module aims:
The course aims at contributing to students' understanding of the law of breach of contract in Israeli law; as well as to systematically analyze an array of issues that involve breach of contract; and to give students a useful normative benchmark for criticizing current legal arrangements.

• Descriptively and normatively analyze various issues surrounding breach of contract, using analytical tools and the doctrine.
