Course/Module description:
The purpose of the course is to provide the students with a wide perspective on pension and retirement arrangements in Israel. At first we will discuss the following theoretical questions: Should the state regulate the pension market and how should it do so? What are the differences between private and public management? How should the law allocate costs between the state, the employer and the employee? In light of these discussions we will then analyze several pension and retirement arrangements, including mandatory occupational pension, continuity of pension rights, retirement age, age discrimination, accommodation of the employment to senior workers and social security benefits.

Course/Module aims:
The purpose of the course is to provide the students with a wide perspective on pension and retirement arrangements in Israel.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Evaluate, analyze and criticize Israeli pension and retirement law.
