Course/Module description:
Does white-collar crime is a term belongs to Sociology or Criminal Law? Does it have different attributions and motives than typical street criminals? Who are the "white collar criminals" and is their collar white? The course will familiarize students with typical parameters of white collar crimes and the gap between theory and practical problems in that field. The course will analyze the cost of this phenomenon to the society and its influence on other criminal subjects i.e.: who are effective "gatekeepers"? Lawyer-client secrecy etc. The students will analyze if there is a "tool box" can be used for effective enforcement.
