Course/Module description:
Introductory Constitutional Law Class for 1L

Course/Module aims:
The course provides basic tools to understand the constitutional law of Israel and the ability to analyze contemporary constitutional problems.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
identify constitutional issues, analyze them, place them in their historical context, and understand the considerations of the Court in resolving them. In addition students will be able to understand the main approaches towards rights and towards the role of the Court in the Israeli democracy, and the main tensions within Israeli constitutional law.

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: Lectures, class discussion, participation in mini moot courts (one a semester), TA instruction, two written assignments

Course/Module Content:
The class discusses three main topics:

A. Basic principles and concepts of Israeli Constitutional Law.

B. Institutional Constitutional Law.

C. Human Rights.
