Course/Module description:
As interdisciplinary behavioral science, criminology can be studied through various perspectives. We will discuss central psychological theories, and analyze criminal and deviant behaviors using their concepts and terms. To illustrate the theories, we will use case study and clips.
Course/Module aims:
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1. To know areas in psychology, relevant to understand crime.
2. To analyze criminal and deviant behaviors using psychological theories and terms.
3. To define the place of the psychological perspective among the various perspectives in criminology, and to discuss both its merit and limitations.
4.To acquire basic knowledge in criminological research methods.
