Course/Module description:
This course examines case studies of Israel's economic policy design in light of implementation and gaps between theoretical and practical aspects. Among the discussed issues we will cover the return of inflation, government budget, Social issues, Education and Health. The course is fitted to non-economists.

Course/Module aims:
The main goal of this course is to aid students to analyze Optimal Public Policy in light of implementation obstacles, with an emphasis on government's ability to bring its aims into practice.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Read papers that propose optimal policy and receive tools that will allow them to analyze whether the government is able to achieve the optimum - given the barriers imposed by reality.

Attendance requirements(%):
80% - recorded classes will be made available

Grading Scheme :
Essay / Project / Final Assignment / Referat 76 %
Submission assignments during the semester: Exercises / Essays / Audits / Reports / Forum / Simulation / others 20 %
Attendance / Participation in Field Excursion 4 %

Additional information:
By the middle of the term students will solve an exercise with a 20 percent weight in the final grade. At the end of the course they will receive a work that consists on responding questions about a paper on the covered topics. The grade will have a 75 percent weight.
