תאור כללי של הקורס:
הקורס יבחן שאלות מרכזיות העוסקות בכלכלה פוליטית בינלאומית וגלובליזציה: כיצד משפיעים גורמים פוליטיים כמו צורת המשטר ואופי המוסדות במדינות יעד פוטנציאליות על חברות רב-לאומיות בהחלטה היכן להשקיע? מדוע אנשים תומכים או מתנגדים לגלובליזציה כלכלית ולפתיחות לסחר בינלאומי? מה מניע מצביעים לתמוך במפלגות המקדמות מדיניות פרוטקציוניסטית? כיצד משפיעה כניסת מהגרי עבודה על העובדים המקומיים במדינה ומה הן ההשלכות האלקטורליות של תופעה זו? מה הן ההשלכות הפוליטיות של מלחמת הסחר בין סין לבין ארה"ב? הקורס יסקור את הספרות המדעית העדכנית שמספקת ראיות משכנעות במענה על שאלות אלה. הסטודנטים יכתבו הצעת מחקר במהלך הסמסטר ולבסוף יכתבו סמינר על אחד הנושאים בקורס ויציגו את עבודת המחקר שלהם בפני הכיתה.

בסיומו של קורס זה, סטודנטים יהיו מסוגלים:
-- לענות על שאלות מרכזיות בתחום המחקר של כלכלה פוליטית בינלאומית.
-- לזהות פערים בספרות המחקרית הקיימת.
-- לעצב מערכי מחקר מתאימים בכדי לענות על פערים אלה.
-- לכתוב עבודת מחקר (סמינר) על אחד הנושאים בקורס.
