תאור כללי של הקורס:
עיון משווה ביצירתו של רמברנדט בדגש על התמונות המקראיות ובקשריו האפשריים עם יהודי אמסטרדם. לצד יצירתו של רמברנדט, נלמד להכיר את האמנות המיוחדת של יהודי הולנד בתור הזהב - קשריה לאמנות הכללית ולאמנות היהודית.

מטרות הקורס:
היכרות מעמיקה וכושר ניתוח של האמנות המקראית של רמברנדט - קשריה למסורות חזותיות קודמות ותרומתה החדשנית והמיוחדת. כנ"ל לגבי האמנות של יהודי הולנד בתקופה זו.

תוצרי למידה :
בסיומו של קורס זה, סטודנטים יהיו מסוגלים:
להעריך, לפרש ולנתח את הנושאים המקראיים בעבודתו של רמברנדט, הרקע ההיסטורי והחברתי, הקשרים עם היהדות, והכרת מאפייני האמנות היהודית שנוצרה באמסטרדם בדורו של רמברנדט.

א) קורות חייו של רמברנדט על רקע תולדות הולנד במאה ה-17.
ב) רמברנדט בליידן - מוריו ומקורותיו של האמן.
ג) רמברנדט בליידן - תמונות מקראיות ראשונות.
ד) רמברנדט באמסטרדם - העשור הראשון.
ה) דמות היהודי באמנות הנוצרית והשינויים בתקופת רמברנדט.
ו) ראשיתה של הקהילה היהודית בהולנד - מפורטוגל לאמסטרדם.
ז) אמנות יהודית באמסטרדם במאה ה- 17 - פריטים לבית ולבית הכנסת.
ח) הנושאים המקראיים בעבודתו של רמברנדט בשנות ה-50 וה-60.
ט) עברית ביצירתו של רמברנדט ובני זמנו (איטליה, הולנד).
י) השפעתו של רמברנדט ואמנות יהודית באמסטרדם במאה ה- 18.
