Course/Module description:
The course aims to expose students to auction theory, which is probably the most successful application of game theory and economic theory to the real world. Our toolbox allows us not only to analyze different auction methods, but also to develop new auctions and adjust them to the goals of the central planner and to the specific market. During the course we will get familiar with theoretical tools that will allows us to analyze different auctions and market conditions. We will also try to deviate from the theory and discuss also practical aspects of auctions.

- Define simple auctions
- Analyze auctions mathematically
- Make use of important results in auction theory
