Course/Module description:
In this course, students will be guided in writing empirical papers in labor economics. As part of the course, we will discuss selected topics in labor economics, with an emphasis on empirical works that use administrative employer-employee data.
The purpose of the course is to guide the students in writing an original research paper in labor economics.

The purpose of the course is to guide the students in writing an original research paper in labor economics

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1) Get to know articles in labor economics from the research frontier.

2) Know applications that test and sometimes contradict the competitive model of the labor market

3) Know how to find and analyze empirical data of the labor market, including large databases

4) Know how to think about a research question in labor economics and answer it using real data

5) Understand how data can help us test economic theories, and modify and expand them if necessary

Attendance requirements(%):
80%

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: In-person teaching, empirical exercises, presentations, and individual meetings with each student where we discuss the progress of the final project.
