Course/Module description:
The course provides an ideological mapping of the party system in Israel with emphasis on the left right. It focuses on the invention of 'the conservative camp' and its tenants - basic laws, the constitutional revolution, the override clause etc. It analyses the different groups and communities partaking in the conservative camp and the reaction of the liberal camp to it.

Course/Module aims:
1. Ideological analysis of the political system
2. Mapping the actors on the parliamentary system
3. Tools for analyzing and criticizing the political system in understanding the crisis of democracy

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
- Understand structural changes in the party system
- Analyze ideologies
- Debate social visions, values and political ideologies
- Understand and act in the crisis of democracy

- Troubles in Utopia, Who is Israeli, and political analysis.

Many primary resources such as basis laws, speeches, party platforms etc.
