Course/Module description:
This introductory survey course considers basic individual, group and organizational processes in the workplace. We will address issues such as motivation, leadership, culture, teams and environment. The main theories of the field and the practical implications that derive from such theories are approached through a variety of means such as class exercises, group discussions, and case analyses.
Course/Module aims:
Teach the main concepts and theories in the field of organizational behavior, and to enable the use of these theories for the analysis of organizational situations.
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Define commonly used terms in organizational behavior
Describe and contrast the main theories in organizational behavior
Critically evaluate the main theories in the field
Apply theoretical knowledge in varied applied fields including social and organizational contexts
